AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player who is captain and striker for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) which is the most prestigious division of women's soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team with Carli Lloyd and Megan rapinoe from 2018 to 2020. [8][9The 9 Morgan was picked as number one in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she completed her degree early at the University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. Morgan made her debut as a professional at the club and was instrumental in helping the team win its league championship. Morgan was just 22 at the time, was the youngest player of the national squad at the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, where the team was runner-up. In the 123rd minutes of the semi-final match against Canada during the 2012 London Olympics she scored the match-winning goals. She ended 2012 with 28 goals, 21 assists, and Mia Hamm was the only American woman who scored both 20 and 20 goals. She was the sixth-youngest U.S. player ever to achieve 20 goals in one season. She was named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year, and was an FIFA World Player of the The Year finalist. Morgan was instrumental in helping to help the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. She was named to the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
