An ex-fashion model of the top class who was 5'10'' in height, Carey was popular with top American fashion designers like Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren. She is the daughter of an outstanding geologist who was awarded the title of Scientist of the Year by the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists. As a result of his work, Carey was raised all over the world. The model began modeling for a part-time basis during her time at college at University of Colorado and caught the attention of a representative from the Ford model Agency in New York. Her move to France in 1980.
